Yes, I agree a generic cover letter is no longer effective. Best is to customize your resume for every job you apply. Especially during these trying times.
For those who need to vent some frustrations here’s a website where people who have been affected by job loss in the current recession could share their anxieties and problems with others having faced similar problems in the past. One website that is interesting is http://www.angstcorner.com.
I particularly like their punch bag section where one can vent out their anger against their tormentor by virtually ‘punching’ them with a weapon of choice! That is quite hilarious.
