What Have you Done Today to Make Yourself a Better Employee?

I’m note a doomsday kind of person. The idea that the world is ending, does not ring true for me, but I have to admit that things in the job search world are difficult. Companies are laying employees off and it seems that every door knocked on reveals a “no”.
If you are in the middle of a long and difficult job search I want to suggest something. I want you to set up a self improvement project. What is the one skill or ability that if added to you repertoire of skills would bring the most value to the workplace? This could be anything from becoming more organized to learning the nuances of Microsoft Excel.
Pick the skill and make it your self improvement project. Find a book or local class on the subject. Set aside one hour a day and work on it. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you will be able to a weakness into strength.
